Necessary Evil - The Bank Job - Part 1
It has been a few weeks since the villains completed their last mission for Dr Destruction. They have received neither instructions nor supplies since then. It is assumed that Dr Destruction is otherwise engaged, presumably setting nefarious plans in motion to defeat the invading aliens. Unfortunately funds and supplies have begun to run low. Repeated requests for supplies have fallen on deaf ears and the villains are getting desperate. The Shifter suggests a good old fashioned heist, adding that he knows of a bank in Uptown which is used predominantly by V’Sori sympathisers. These loathsome individuals are using the V’Sori occupation to become rich, supplying goods and services at vastly inflated prices to the long suffering citizens of Star City. Seems like the perfect target. He adds that the word on the street is that a V’Sori bigwig is using the bank vault to store a stolen Atlantean artifact of some kind. Deciding that this bears further investigation, Red Dragon goes out in her civilian guise and meets with one of her street gang contacts. The contact does some digging and confirms that something was brought into the bank under V’Sori guard and locked in the vault. The gang contact has connections with someone who works in the bank who confirms the story. The bank is a branch of the American Savings Bank of Star City. It is a modern, medium sized structure. It is located at Chester and 21st in Uptown. Checking out the bank is easy. It’s a public building after all. Red Dragon visits the bank under the pretense of setting up a safety deposit box, and relays the basic lay of the land to the rest of the group.
The Count suggest an infiltration. Using their connection in the bank via Red Dragon, the group identify an elderly customer who has a safety deposit box in the vault. The Count’s plan is to gain access to the woman and mind control her into depositing him in his bat form into the vault, in a specially designed box. Professor Mastermind builds a box quickly and then suggest another idea. He throws together a shrinking device (Bwah-hah-ha!). Red Dragon will get The Shifter and Professor Mastermind into the bank in shrunken state, so they can remain hidden until the bank is closed.
The Count learns that the old woman is called Patricia Whitfield. Her husband, Patrick, was a successful financier before the invasion. The Count and the Shifter head for her apartment. Buying flowers for Mrs Whitfield’s housekeeper, they bribe the doorman into revealing her apartment number, and sneak up while the doorman calls the housekeeper down to pick up the floors. Th Count enters Mrs Whitfield’s apartment in mist form. The Shifter knocks at the door disguised as the woman’s dead husband. She answers the door and stunned by what she sees, is easily mind controlled by the Count. He uses suggestion to have her take the box to the bank and placed in the vault. The Count is hidden inside the box, and once in the vault, searches the safety deposit boxes for the artifact.
Meanwhile, Red Dragon has smuggled the Shifter and the Professor into the bank in shrunken form. At 1” tall, they easily hide themselves in the seating area and wait for the bank to close. Red Dragon leaves, and inside the group’s van, dons hers armour and waits for the signal.
Shifter and Mastermind trek across the silent bank floor, too small to be detected by alarms or the dormant V’Sori drones standing guard. Climbing beneath the helmet of one of the drones’, Mastermind is horrified and fascinated to learn that a human being lurks under the trappings of a robotic soldier. Attempting to use his stun weapon to disrupt the drones’ equilibrium, Mastermind is frustrated by his minute size.
Meanwhile, The Count has opened the vault door and, transforming into his wolf form, charges the security door leading into the bank proper. The door bursts open and the alarm sounds.
The Count urges his companions to get their game faces on. Taking the commotion inside as her signal, Red Dragon guns the van’s engine and, firing an energy blast to break the shutters across the front of the bank, crashes into the bank from the front. Unfortunately, in her enthusiasm, Red Dragon has given the van too much momentum and it flies across the bank floor, crashing into the tellers station. This prompts the security screens to drop, pinning the van’s front end solidly.

Write-up edited to reflect those suggestions.
I'd be interested in your feedback regarding how the session went, if you have any general or specific points. Either post on the forum or PM me. Also, are there any player aids you can think of which might make the game more enjoyable? I'm thinking of a super power crib sheet which will have your characters' powers listed and their effects. Would this be useful?

A further gentle reminder that this coming Wednesday is Necessary Evil again. Subject to Chris' hospitality again. I would ask that you come along with snacks again, as you all did so generously last time. Looking forward to it again.

Necessary Evil - The Bank Job - Part 2
As the dust settles, one of the V'Sori drones guarding the bank suddenly springs into action, levelling his blaster at the van and blowing the side away, revealing Red Dragon who has just climbed into the HADES module for her suit. Red Dragon climbs from the van and engages the drone. Having some issues initially with the suit configuration, she finally takes the drone out.
Meanwhile the Count has headed back into the vault assuming the others are dealing with the guards. He uses a cash cart and begins loading cash and items from the safety deposit boxes into it.
Back in the bank foyer, Professor Mastermind has tweaked his stun gun and blasts the second drone into unconsciousness. The Shifter asks the Professor to return him to normal size, The Professor does so and has The Shifter carry him over to one of the computer terminals, still in his reduced size. The Shifter, clearly frustrated at being kept out of the fight, lashes out at the first downed drone, as Red Dragon watches in bemusement.
A third drone approaches the vault, following it's programming to investigate. Hearing the heavy footfalls of the drone approach, the Count assumes his mist form and swirls into the helmet of the drone, solidifying slightly causing the drone to choke and collapse.
Professor Mastermind hacks into the bank computer system with ease, swiftly shutting down the alarm and security systems, and erasing all trace of their presence there. He also begins to transfer funds electronically into an account of his own creation. The rest of the group join The Count in the vault. They hit on the idea of miniaturising themselves and the loot. Red Dragon carries them all out of the bank and is then shrunk herself to better escape notice. The group observe from an alley across the street as SOCorp police appear, and search the bank, finding nothing. Meanwhile, restored to his true size, Shifter changes shape, taking on the appearance of a non-de-script office worker, and carrying the miniaturised team in his pocket, hails a cab away from the scene.
Back at the warehouse, the team investigate their haul. They have come away with a significant amount of cash. The group are aware that they will need to spend it carefully. They also investigate the Atlantean artifact. It is a part-organic sphere which appears inert. Further investigation suggests that the item may be part of King Meros of Atlantis' sceptre, although this is by no means certain.
After a couple of days, Dr Destruction contacts the group again. He firstly warns them of increased V'Sori activity following a bank raid in the city. Secondly, he issues them a new mission. The team are to rescue several hostages being held in a former police station on the mainland, before they can be taken to a V'Sori starship for interrogation and execution. Professor Mastermind activates a long dormant satellite he once used in a former scheme. The satellite manages to grab a couple of low res images of the site before it is detected and destroyed by a V'Sori fighter. The police station appears to be lightly guarded although two V'Sori spacecraft can be clearly seen in the parking lot.

The First Family
The group decide to approach the problem through infiltration. Professor Mastermind sets to work recreating his shrinking ray. Once completed, the team gather their equipment. The Shifter changes shape into a sea bird and the group fit a specially designed collar to him before shrinking themselves down and climbing aboard. The Shifter flies the team across the miles of ocean to the mainland and they set down within woods, a short distance from their objective. They observe that the station parking lot is deserted apart from the two spacecraft. Originally the plan had been for the shape shifter to assume the appearance of the precinct commander but the team realise that the building has no remaining human occupants. Professor Mastermind builds a hologram projector from components he has with him. This disguises the group as V'Sori drones. Under camouflage, they walk towards the main door. As they near the building, they spot two K'Tharen relaxing near the transport vehicle. These two call to the team, fooled by the disguise but forcing the team into a tight spot. As they prepare to attack, a pick up truck screeches to a halt and several armed humans begin firing at the station. The K'Tharen begin returning fire and an alarm sounds and drones begin leaving the station to join the battle. The team see their chance and make for the backup entrance. They move through into the station without any resistance and soon locate the cells. Red Dragon breaks the doors open and the group find the First Lady, her daughter and granddaughter within. They start to leave the station via the same route and run into resistance. They encounter the V'Sori warlord and his guards and after a close fought battle, the warlord teleports away and the team get the first family away.
