Challenge of the Daleks

Ok, so new Who is nearly upon us, and my thoughts turn inevitably to that pristine copy of Dr Who Adventures in Time and Space which is sitting in our resident Who expert's house. I think it's time that the bad boy was cracked open and given a spin round the block. I therefore challenge Mr Bourne to prepare a Dr Who game for the christmas holidays, or sooner if he can jump in that blue box thing and make it happen. I still have all the characters from the Dr Who playtest that we prepared a couple of years back. I have crib sheets and stuff. the honourable Mr Rolfe has lots of Dr Who figure things. What say you, Mr Bourne? Will you rise to the challenge?

Fortunately you've caught me in the midst of pre-series Who-fever as I hotly anticipate Saturday's showdown between the Doctor and the Asylum of the Daleks!! So I say, challenge accepted!! Im going to write a scenario right now featuring a shed-load of murderous Daleks, with the promise of plenty of exterminations and exciting action. So get your Sonic Screwdrivers ready, and set the fast-return switch on your TARDIS consoles to Skaro and prepare to face the Challenge of the Daleks!!

Ok, so are we going to play this as Doctor and companions? If so, which Doctor and who wants to play him . See what I did there?

Yes this will be a game with the players taking on the role of the Doctor and Companions. I have a preference for 11th Doctor but don't mind if an earlier incarnation is used instead. Companion roles can either be an existing televised companion or an original creation of your own. If anyone has a desperate urge to play the Doctor let me know?

So how about the rest of you? Anyone else want to play the Doctor? If not, do you want to play Amy or Rory, or do you want to play another companion altogether? In the next couple of days, I will grab the play test characters I have and list them here so you can indicate your preference. I am also happy to walk you through the character creation process if you want to make a new character. Unfortunately i don't possess telepathy, so sound off here and let us know what you want.

Btw I've just been rewatching Asylum of the Daleks for the 3rd time and having a lot of fun with the freeze-frame playing 'spot the classic series Daleks' within the asylum (he he). Such a thrill to catch glimpse of that black-domed Evil of the Daleks model from 1967!!

Great stuff, the more the merrier guys. If anyone has a preference for playing a particular companion role (a TV character or your own invention) please let me know your ideas? Kevin: Im happy for you to play the Doctor.

I have just finished writing out my outline for the Challenge of the Daleks scenario which I hope you'll all enjoy. Hopefully I'll be ready to start before the current series ends.......The Dalek Supreme awaits your pleasure!!!!

I have the stats for the current Doctor as they were released for free to tie in with the updated version of the RPG. I'll print them out and have them ready.
I'll get the playtest companions dug out this weekend and posted here.
Personally, I'll go for one of those rather than Amy or Rory, as I feel those two companions would only work if used together, and I ain't playin' the ginger whinger
