Delta Green Empty Delta Green

Post by kevinrolfe 19th March 2011, 00:15

I have begun creating a Delta Green Cell, with some history and some Delta Green Friendlys.

the idea is to have a complete unit to use at the drop of a hat. these PC can die during an adventure but when the next one comes a long the same team go in so that i can run a game at the drop of a hat and not have to roll up a new team each time.

Now if this team works i may do this for other games so i have complete teams ready to go.

i have this for Cyberpunk 2020 (3 or 4 teams) and C&S (2 or 3 teams)

Post by kevinrolfe 24th March 2011, 20:52

Jonathan Grey has been in the FBI for just under twenty years, and is renowned for his uncompromising approach to his work. Since he helped set up Task Force Deliverance, he and his partner, Special Agent Conrad Shepherd, have prosecuted over twenty separate cases and recovered twenty-nine victims safe and well.
Grey graduated from UCLA with a master’s degree in Law Enforcement. He went straight into the FBI and moved through several postings before being summoned to Washington DC to work on Deliverance.

Although he has admitted it to no one, Grey has strong feelings for Abigail Sanderson. The main reason he has not made a move is because he is concerned about how her attitude towards spooks and spectres may impact on his professional image and, in turn, the reputation and effectiveness of Task Force Deliverance.

Two of Task Force Deliverance’s cases have resulted in the victims dying before they could be found. Grey travels to their graves once a year and leaves flowers.

Grey is unmarried but has a seven year old daughter from a previous relationship.

Possessions of Note:
M4 carbine (agency issue) with four clips of thirty 5.56mm bullets; this weapon is normally kept in a locked box in the trunk of the hire car used by the team when on interstate business, or in his car when within driving distance of Washington DC
Beretta M92 handgun (agency issue), with four clips of 15 9mm rounds
Light Kevlar vest, absorbing the first 5 hit points of damage from firearms
Cellphone

Secret Stuff:
Shortly after your last investigation, you were approached by a “Ms. Green”, and invited to join a top secret government organisation known as Delta Green, set up to investigate extra-terrestrial and other threats to the security of the United States of America. You accepted. Total plausible deniability protects even the existence of Delta Green. You are technically cleared to carry out any and all activities in the furtherance of DG’s objectives, but if arrested you will be abandoned to the courts. It is not advisable to try and claim government clearance as a defence.

Should you require any additional, non-standard equipment beyond normal FBI clearance, Delta Green may be able to pull strings and deliver it to you.

Your Delta Green codename is “Nelson”. You know that Agent Maguire (“Nicholas”) and Doctor Castle (“Nathan”) are also members of Delta Green. This is to be your first ‘special’ case.

You know that Special Agent Shepherd was not approached by Delta Green because they felt he was too unsubtle for DELTA GREEN clearance operations. You are surprised that Dr Sanderson was not even approached by Delta Green and are considering, depending on how she performs during this operation, recommending her for recruitment

Conrad Shepherd has been in the FBI for almost twenty-five years and is six years away from the mandatory retirement age. He is very much an agent of the ‘old school’, preferring fieldwork to the analysis and predictions that his partner, Special Agent Grey, relies on.
Shepherd is a qualified negotiator and does much of the talking for the team during hostage situations. He is also physically fit for his age and can kick his fair share of ass if things go awry.

Shepherd has twice been reprimanded for excessive force during arrests. Although he and Jonathan Grey work well together professionally, and willingly share credit for the overall success of Task Force Deliverance, the two do not get on too well on a personal level. Shepherd feels that Grey is full of himself.

Shepherd’s guilty pleasure is botany. He is divorced, but maintains frequent contact with his ex-wife Clare and his two teenaged sons.

Gregory Castle was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served most of a term in Vietnam before being invalided out after being hit twice by a burst of Vietcong machine gun fire. His interest in medicine was awakened during his subsequent six month stay in hospital. During his rehabilitation he began studying for a degree in Biology and later entered medical school. He stayed in higher education until 1979, when he graduated with a PhD in Forensic Science, specialising in ballistics and toxicology. With his qualifications, he walked into a job with the Vermont State Troopers as a forensic pathologist before being headhunted by the FBI’s Vermont office in 1985.
When Task Force Deliverance was formed in 1998, his superiors recommended that he apply for the pathologist vacancy. Following discussions with his family, he and his wife moved to Washington DC to join Deliverance. As a father he finds searching for kidnapped children to be greatly rewarding, although he often has trouble remaining detached when required to perform autopsies on murdered child victims of abduction.

Gregory Castle is married to Lillian and has three adult children. He and his wife live in the Washington DC suburbs and have a second home in the mountains of Vermont.

Possessions of Note:
Field medical and forensic analysis kit
A jar containing fragments of unidentifiable biological matter (this is the shot-up remnants of the Traveller from Shadow Puppets and Power Plays)
Various medical journals and textbooks
Dr Castle keeps his Purple Heart in his inside jacket pocket at all times

Note that, although Dr Castle has proficiency in the use of an M16 assault rifle, left over from his time in Vietnam, he does not own a gun, and has never yet been issued with an agency firearm.

You have been told that you were selected by Delta Green because of your dissection of the non-terrestrial creature recovered during the last investigation, and your examinations of the bodies of its victims.

Your Delta Green codename is “Nathan”. You know that Agent Maguire (“Nicholas”) and Special Agent Grey (“Nelson”) are also members of Delta Green. This is to be your first ‘special’ case.

Abigail Sanderson’s good looks often cause Bureau agents to underestimate her skills. Her mother was one of the first female FBI special agents and young Abigail always wanted to get into law enforcement. Unfortunately, she failed both the police officer and FBI agent medical examinations, due to a congenital heart defect on her father’s side.
Ever resourceful, Sanderson went in through the back door. She left Harvard with a PhD in History, actually specialising in Ancient Greek myths, but with a large amount of studying law enforcement history under her belt. She soon gained a reputation as a superb researcher into past criminal cases. Following the disappearance of her younger sister in mysterious circumstances in 2000, Sanderson transferred to Task Force Deliverance and applied her skills to the area of abduction.

Her sister’s disappearance, and her belief in the supernatural (although not extra-terrestrials) has gained her the inaccurate nickname of ‘Agent Scully’ amongst many FBI agents she has worked with. When not actively working on a case, Sanderson is particularly interested in the research of ghosts, spirits and other supernatural entities.

Despite her eccentricities, she gets on well with everyone else in the team, except Special Agent Shepherd, who she suspects views her as a dumb blonde. In turn, she sees him as an anachronism that should be retired as soon as possible.

Possessions of Note:
Several books on Navaho, Apache and Arabic myths
Laptop computer, on which can be found records of various hauntings across the USA, a nearly complete second draft of a novel set in Ancient Sparta, and notes for a novel about a daemonic parasite that causes its hosts to indulge in cannibalistic murder sprees
Cellphone

Secret Stuff:
Shortly after your last investigation, you were approached by a “Ms. Green”, and invited to join a top secret government organisation known as Delta Green, set up to investigate extra-terrestrial and other threats to the security of the United States of America. You refused, partly due to your scepticism towards ‘UFOs’ and partly because you suspect that it was Delta Green that interfered with your last case, part of which involved agents physically assaulting you.

Lois Anne Nash has lived in Washington DC all her life, being born in the violent downtown neighbourhood. Where most of the children she grew up with were drifting into gang culture, Lois became enamoured of the thin blue line. She surprised her family by announcing her intention, at the age of fourteen, to become a cop.
As soon as she could, she applied for the academy and, at the height of an ethnic minorities recruitment drive, was accepted. Forever aware that she got her job as a result of positive discrimination, Officer Nash worked hard to prove herself to herself, her family and her superiors, eventually ending up as one of the only women on the Washington DC SWAT team. In due time she came to the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, eventually accepting an invitation to join their rapidly growing hostage rescue division. From there, she moved onto Task Force Deliverance in 2002, acting as co-ordinator with local police and FBI tactical agents during tricky hostage rescue or raid situations.

Agent Nash is very much a from-the-front leader, leaving strategy to the agent in charge. During the time she has been on the task force, not one hostage has been harmed during a forced entry. Nash aims to keep it this way.

Possessions of Note:
M4 carbine (agency issue) with four clips of thirty 5.56mm rounds and a muzzle-light
Glock 18 handgun (agency issue), capable of automatic fire, with four clips of seventeen 9mm bullets
Heavy Kevlar body armour and helmet, absorbing the first 8 hit points of damage from firearms
Radio headset patchable to most law enforcement frequencies
Cellphone

Hillary Maguire was born to Irish-American parents in Rhode Island. Upon gaining a scholarship to study at Brown University, he went on to achieve the highest grade in his year and earned his PhD in Psychology in summer of 1998. In the same year, he joined the FBI as a field agent, eventually specialising in forensic psychology.
Maguire is considered to be an expert in his field, particularly in predicting the history, motives and methods of child abductors. In 2001 he was brought into Task Force Deliverance to assist on the Laurie-Ann Granger case. Within a week his insights had led to the arrest of a neighbour and the rescue of the child.

Although the most junior (both in age and experience) of the three field agents attached to Task Force Deliverance, his skills make him a valued team member.

Maguire smokes Marlboro cigarettes, but is trying to cut down from his twenty-a-day habit, following the results of his last Bureau medical examination.

Hillary Maguire is unmarried but lives with his house-bound mother in Washington DC.

Possessions of Note:
Beretta M92 handgun (agency issue), with four clips of 15 9mm rounds
Light Kevlar vest, absorbing the first 5 hit points of damage from firearms.
Cellphone
A pack of Marlboro cigarettes sealed with sellotape – following the stress of your last investigation, you opened the packet, smoked two of the cigarettes and then resealed the packet.

From: Cell ‘A’
To: New Agents

Subject: DELTA GREEN Clearance and Operations
Formation of ‘ ’ Cell

Message:

Before moving on to the main subject matter of this briefing we would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for your decision to join in this undertaking. We are not in the habit of recruiting fools, but it is nevertheless worth emphasising that it is the single most important decision that you have made in your life; not merely for the impact that it will make on you personally, but on the well being and safety of the country that you already so faithfully serve.

That is why you are reading this document.

We believe that you can make a difference.

It is of necessity that your country can never properly thank you for the services that you will perform in its defence. As Ms. Green has already informed you in her initial briefing, knowledge of the preternatural threats that face us must NEVER become public knowledge, else we risk opening a Pandora’s Box that no one can close. One must only glance at a history book to recognise that even a little knowledge in the hands of enemies (be they internal or external) can be a dangerous and terrible thing.

The only consolation that we can offer is to let you know that you are the inheritors of a brave and honourable tradition forged across decades by courageous men and women with the spirit to fight that which it became their destiny to fight. Do not let them down.

As for what has just been divulged and what is about to be divulged:

SECRECY IS PARAMOUNT.

Subject to the following operational guidelines, you must take this information, and any further information that you are made party to in the course of your service, to the grave. It is out of respect to the commitment that you have made that we will not discuss the consequences of any failure to adhere to this principle.

Our mission

• To protect the citizens of the United States from threats originating with paranormal phenomena
• To maintain the security of the United States from paranormal threats.
• To gather intelligence on paranormal phenomena.

DELTA GREEN Clearance and Operations

You have been cleared for DELTA GREEN level intelligence and operations.

Dissemination of DELTA GREEN intelligence, operational assignments and all related matters are entirely within the purview of Cell ‘A’. Cell ‘A’ is comprised of Agents ‘Alphonse’, ‘Adam’ and ‘Andrea’.

You have been assigned the status of DELTA GREEN Agent. You may discuss DELTA GREEN material with fellow Agents in your Cell (see below). You may also discuss DELTA GREEN material with other Agents, subject to the approval of Cell ‘A’.

Operational assignments may involve contact with persons designated as DELTA GREEN ‘friendlies’. DELTA GREEN ‘friendlies’ are party to varying degrees of information concerning DELTA GREEN matters and should be handled with caution. Guidance will be provided on an individual basis as to what information can and cannot be disclosed to such persons.

Briefings, assignment and oversight on operational assignments for your cell may be made by other cell Agents at the discretion and direction of Cell ‘A’.

Regular reporting and communication with Cell ‘A’ can be made via e-mail at the following address:TBA
Such communications go through an encryption process and are completely secure.

It is imperative that Agents keep Cell ‘A’ regularly informed of operational developments and any intelligence gathered.

Urgent communications may be made through encrypted cell phone (see attached package). Please exercise discretion.

A ‘cultural’ note. Operational assignments are frequently presaged with a code
phrase – an ‘invitation to a night at the Opera’.

Operational Support: Intelligence.

Cell ‘A’ may be in a position to assist Agents with DELTA GREEN intelligence on paranormal phenomena which may be pertinent to an operation. Cell ‘A’ will endeavour to provide this up front where appropriate, though Agents may use their discretion in submitting further requests should the requirement arise.

Cell ‘A’ may also be able to provide specific intelligence items on persons, institutions, locations etc from ‘sympathetic’ sources. Again, Agents are asked to use their judgement and discretion with regards to such requests.

Operational Support: Logistics

Cell ‘A’ may also be in a position to supply ‘logistical’ support in the form of ‘safe-houses’ and equipment caches (the operational/’cultural’ term ‘Green Box’ is applied to such caches).

The location and provision of these and other such operational resources will be divulged as and when required.

Cell ‘ ’

Those Agents reading this document now formally comprise Cell ‘ ’.

Those Agents should now allocate themselves a simple code-name beginning with the letter ‘ ‘ and immediately inform Cell ‘A’ of their designation. Such code names should be used operationally when ever possible (though obviously not in such circumstances where such usage would arouse the comment and suspicion of peers or colleagues).

Operational assignments will be forthcoming.

Thank you, and welcome to Delta Green.
