Torchwood: Miracle Day & The Lost Tales (plus Doctor Who press details for 'Lets Kill Hitler')

Next week sees the return of Torchwood both on BBC1 in the first episode of Series 4: Miracle Day and also on Radio 4 in a series of three plays called ‘Torchwood: The Lost Files’. The Lost Files plays are set before the events of the last series, ‘Children of Earth’ and feature Ianto Jones back with the team of Captain Jack, Gwen and Rhys.
Here’s a roundup of what we have to look forward to:-
• Monday 11th July - BBC Radio 4 @ 14:15: “Torchwood: The Lost Files”
1/3 “The Devil and Miss Carew”
An alien with an aversion to electricity threatens to take planet Earth back into the Dark Ages.
• Tuesday 12th July – BBC Radio 4 @ 14:15: “Torchwood: The Lost Files”
2/3 “Submission”
A mishap on the Severn Bridge causes the SUV to plunge into the water, where the team picks up a mysterious distress signal.
After pulling some strings with the US Government, Jack secures a place on board the USS Calvin, and leads Gwen and Ianto on an
expedition into the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean.
• Wednesday 13th July – BBC Radio 4 @ 14:15: “Torchwood: The Lost Files”
3/3 “The House of the Dead”
The brewery is shutting The House of the Dead, said to be the most haunted pub in Wales. A large crowd gathers for the séance
planned for the final night, but Jack is determined to stop it going ahead.
• Thursday 14th July – BBC1 @ 21:00: “Torchwood: Miracle Day”

Across the world people suddenly stop dying. Given the overnight population boom, experts predict that in four months the human
race will be unable to cope. CIA agent Rex Matheson’s suspicion of a global conspiracy leads him to the top-secret British institute
Torchwood.
Doctor Who - Series 6 news round-up
Press details for the first episode of Doctor Who following the summer break, 'Let's Kill Hitler', (such a great episode title) have been released courtesy of the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Festival.
The episode will be screened at the annual gathering of senior figures from within the Television industry on Friday 26th August.
Synopsis: In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in 1930s Berlin, bringing the Doctor face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe. And Hitler. The Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities - and in so doing, learns a harsh lesson in the cruellest warfare of all.
